Candidate Background
Representative Pete Aguilar is running for a sixth term to represent California’s 33rd congressional district. Aguilar previously served as mayor of Redlands, California. He is committed to taking action to reduce carbon pollution and tackle climate change and has co-sponsored important environmental legislation, including the “Frack Pack'' to close fracking loopholes in our bedrock environmental laws; to establish a national infrastructure development bank to finance energy and environmental projects; and to address California’s historic drought. In Congress, he will continue to use his position on the House Agriculture Energy Subcommittee to support strengthened protections for clean water and clean air and investments in clean energy. Representative Aguilar has earned a 97% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
