CANDIDATE BACKGROUND
Representative Jason Crow is running for a fourth term to represent Colorado’s 6th congressional district. After the September 11 attacks, Crow enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since leaving the army, he has been an advocate for veterans, advising President Obama’s reelection campaign on military and veterans’ issues and co-chairing Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper’s Veterans Affairs Transition Committee. In Congress, Representative Crow will continue to fight to protect clean air, clean water and our public lands, transition to 100% clean energy by 2050, and rejoin the Paris Climate Accord. As a member of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, Jason is fighting to accelerate the transition to renewable energy, promote sustainable and equitable transportation, and mitigate the effects of drought, wildfires and other natural disasters exacerbated by climate change that affect Colorado.
Rep. Crow wrote the bipartisan Small Business Energy Loan Enhancement Act to help small businesses improve their energy efficiency, and he introduced legislation like the the Bus Integration Dedicated to Improving Resilience, Eliminating Congestion, and Triggering Innovation Over Numerous Applications and Localities (BIDIRECTIONAL) Act, which establishes an innovative clean school bus program with the Department of Energy. Representative Crow has earned a stellar lifetime score of 99% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
