CANDIDATE BACKGROUND
Representative Greg Stanton is running for a fourth term to represent Arizona’s 4th Congressional District. Stanton served two terms as the mayor of Phoenix where he was a leader on environmental issues on both the local and national level. During his tenure as mayor, Stanton passed a climate action plan that set a goal of being a carbon-neutral city by 2050. When the Trump administration announced they were withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement, Stanton was one of the first mayors in the country to announce that his city would remain committed to the standards set by the agreement. In Congress, Representative Stanton will continue to champion climate action and conservation. Representative Stanton has earned an impressive lifetime score of 98% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
