CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Doris Matsui is running for an 11th term to represent California’s 7th Congressional District. Matsui previously served in the Clinton administration in the White House Office of Public Liaison. She has prioritized making Sacramento a leading city for clean energy and has introduced numerous pieces of legislation to help grow clean energy businesses. In Congress, Matsui will use her positions as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and co-chair of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition to promote clean energy and encourage action on climate change. Representative Matsui has earned a 97% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
