CANDIDATE BACKGROUND
Representative Brittany Pettersen is running for a second term to represent Colorado's 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. She previously served in both the Colorado State Senate and State House Prior to that, Pettersen worked as a field director at New Era Colorado, a nonprofit to increase youth voter registration and civic engagement. While serving in the state legislature in 2013, she consistently supported climate action, clean energy and environmental protections, earning a perfect 100 percent lifetime score from Conservation Colorado. She has sponsored legislation to create a comprehensive plan for the state for climate change impacts and resilience, to promote electric vehicles and electric scooters, and to promote energy efficiency for buildings to reduce emissions. In Congress, she will continue to advocate for Colorado's clean energy future. Pettersen earned an impressive 97% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
