CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman is running for a sixth term to represent New Jersey’s 12th Congressional district.  Watson Coleman previously served in the state Assembly. While in office, she has been a strong environmental advocate, supporting efforts to address climate change and reduce carbon pollution. She has also voted to defend the Clean Water Act from attacks and was a fierce critic of the Keystone XL pipeline. Watson Coleman is New Jersey's only Member on the House Appropriations Committee, which allows her to ensure dedicated funds for environmentally sound policies. She is a champion for open space and preservation, clean water and air, and ensuring equitable justice for our urban communities.
