CANDIDATE BACKGROUND
Representative Kim Schrier is running for a fourth term to represent Washington’s 8th Congressional District. Dr. Schrier has a degree in astrophysics and after medical school became a pediatrician, taking care of children and families for the last 16 years. Dr. Schrier knows firsthand the importance of protecting clean air and clean water for children’s health. She will continue to focus on advancing clean energy and combating climate change. As one of two pediatricians and three women doctors in Congress, she brings a vital voice to Congress in the fight for reproductive rights, children’s health, and affordable health care. She is also passionate about conservation and transitioning to a clean energy economy, so our children have clean air and water and our communities are protected from the impacts of climate change. While in Congress she has sponsored several bills to protect Washington’s wildlife, public lands, and water. Representative Schrier has earned a stellar lifetime score of 98% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
