Since his election in 2006, Senator Jon Tester has showed leadership on clean energy and conservation issues. A member of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, and a former Vice Chairman of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, Tester has consistently stood up for Montanans. As a farmer, he has pushed commonsense measures to advance renewable energy in rural communities and spoken passionately about the need to address climate change. He has also consistently worked to hold Big Oil accountable, supporting efforts to end taxpayer handouts and introducing legislation to ensure the responsible companies pay the full amount for environmentally disastrous spills. A champion for Montana’s public lands, Tester has been a leading advocate for the full funding and permanent re-authorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Senator Tester has earned a strong 86% lifetime on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
