Jon Ossoff is running to represent Georgia’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in the special election to fill the seat left vacant by former Representative Tom Price. Ossoff was born and raised in Northlake, in this district, and received his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and his Master’s degree from the London School of Economics. He worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Representatives Hank Johnson (GA-04) and John Lewis (GA-05), focusing on national security issues. In 2013, he became the managing partner and CEO of Insight TWI, a small investigative production company targeting corrupt public officials and organized crime for international news organizations. His company produced an investigative piece on the connection between political corruption and illegal logging in Sierra Leone that is threatening to destroy the country’s endangered forests within a decade. If elected, he will be an ally in the fight to protect our air, water and natural resources for our children and all future generations. He is particularly concerned about the Chattahoochee-Flint river basin, one of the most endangered in the country, and will fight to make Georgia a leader in clean energy. LCV Action Fund and Friends of the Earth Action endorsed Ossoff on March 9, 2017.
