U.S. Senator Bob Casey has been a strong supporter of the environment during his two terms in the U.S. Senate. Stemming from concerns about water contamination in Pennsylvania and around the country from the hydraulic fracturing process used in natural gas extraction, Senator Casey introduced the FRAC Act. This legislation would regulate fracking under the Safe Drinking Water Act and require drillers to disclose the chemicals used in their operations. He has repeatedly voted to end taxpayer funded subsidies to Big Oil and to extend tax incentives for clean, renewable energies. Senator Casey has earned a strong 89% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
