Beto O’Rourke is running to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate, after serving three terms representing Texas’s 16th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to his election to Congress, O’Rourke served on the El Paso City Council, where he was a champion for conservation and sustainable planning. In Congress, he has fought against attacks on the EPA, opposed the Keystone XL pipeline, and supported clean water protections. In November, O’Rourke was able to get protections for the Castner Range included in the defense authorization bill. Castner Range is a 7,081-acre mountain range surrounded by the Franklin Mountains State Park in Northeast El Paso. Representative O’Rourke has earned an outstanding 94% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard. LCV Action Fund endorsed Representative O’Rourke on December 11, 2017.
