Angus King is currently serving his second term to represent Maine in the U.S. Senate. King previously served as Governor, in addition to his work with a variety of alternative energy companies in the private sector. Throughout his career, King has championed renewable energies and conservation initiatives, facilitating the largest increase of protected lands in Maine’s history. In the Senate, King has championed transitioning to a clean energy economy, action to address the climate crisis, and protecting public lands and will continue to fight for legislation to fully fund and reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Senator King has earned a 92% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
