U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar is running for her third term representing Minnesota in the U.S. Senate. Prior to her election to the Senate, she spent eight years as Hennepin County Attorney. A member of the Senate Climate Task Force, Klobuchar has been an advocate for climate action, supporting the Clean Power Plan, the Paris climate agreement, and leading a Senate resolution recognizing the need for climate action. A Vice Chair of the Great Lakes Task Force, she co-sponsored the Great Lakes Legacy Act and the Great Lakes Ecological and Economic Protection Act, sponsored the Upper Mississippi River Protection Act, and worked to stop the importation and transportation of invasive Asian carp. Klobuchar has fought for clean air, consistently supporting EPA authority to regulate pollution from power plants. She has helped promote clean energy and energy efficiency, introducing the bipartisan Nonprofit Energy Efficiency Act.
